Day 1 - 1 March 2011

Farewell to the Chesters

sunny 27 °C

Normal middle of the night Jetstar flight but we did manage to jag a 3 seater with only the 2 of us. Sleep was intermittent and not really comfortable.

Many thanks Zita and Murray for picking us up from the airport at the lovely early hour of 6.15.

Went to hotel in Burnside and crashed, woke and went to lunch at Burnside Village then to Officeworks and bought our lovely little laptop, with a DVD drive so we can watch DVD's when we are bored!!! NOT. And an extra hard drive for all the photos.

Dinner that night was a real family affair at Belair Hotel in the hills with Pam, Alicia and Melanie (Leon's nieces), Melanie's boyfriend and Amelia (Alicia's daughter), Zita and Murray, Leon and I.

2 Photos show the group, the others are of the gorgeous Amelia - what a confident and grown up young lady - who doesn't mind her photo being taken either.

Great night and a lovely drive home.

Lead up to D Day

The Farewell to Wagait Party

sunny 33 °C

Our party at the Sportsground on Saturday 26th February was a great send off for us. Time to relax with good friends and say our farewells. Thanks to those who came and many thanks to Lilla and Legs for the great musical sendoff.

Due to large consumption of the good stuff, my farewell speech (thanks Lilla) was not understandable, however from what I heard, a bit better than Leon's silence. But the feelings were there. We will miss you mob, but not toooooo much.

Sunday 27th was a very very slow day and not much cleaning up was done at the house. Unfortunately Kerry and Mick (our tenants) couldn't make it to the party. You will really like them, they are very relaxed easy going couple. Kerry's daughter Paige will also be living there and her son Ryan may live there later. I know you will all make them welcome. Dart players and fisher people also!!!!

They will be moving into the house on 17 March, fingers crossed nothing serious will break, break down, fall over etc....... Thanks heaps to Narelle for being the Agent lady.

Monday 28 was a very long, very busy day, thanks heaps to Simon, Tash, Millar, Kenita, Speech, Mick, Al, Singy, helping us shove everything into the container. Also to everyone else who helped up leave... Thanks and lotsa love to you all.

Monday evening we left ''The Island" Laura and Michael in Laura's car and Leon and I in the ute. Drove to Laura's and stayed until time to go to airport.

Many thanks to Michael and Laura for spending the weekend with your Mum (and Leon) - love you guys - you are my world - keep safe.

All went went smoothly at Darwin Airport - outta here on the lovely Jetstar flight leaving Darwin at 1.40am - here we come Adelaide.
